- Cardiologist with Pediatric experience
Description
Uncommon Cures is seeking a PRN Cardiologist with pediatric experience to support echocardiogram acquisition for rare disease clinical trials. This consulting role involves obtaining protocol-required ECHO images from both pediatric and adult study participants on an as-needed basis, tied to the schedule of clinical trial visits. The position offers flexible, study-driven scheduling and is well suited to a cardiologist interested in contributing to rare disease drug development without a full-time commitment.
Core Responsibilities:
Obtain echocardiogram images from pediatric and adult participants enrolled in rare disease clinical trials
Ensure images meet protocol-specific technical and quality requirements
Complete accurate, study-compliant documentation for each ECHO session
Work directly with study participants and families, many of whom have rare diseases and may require extra clinical sensitivity
Coordinate scheduling around individual study visit timelines (non-routine, variable cadence)
Requirements
Required:
Active Maryland medical license
Pediatric cardiology or pediatric echocardiography experience
Demonstrated comfort working with both pediatric and adult patients, specifically within a rare disease population
Technical proficiency in obtaining protocol-required ECHO images
Strong attention to detail — image quality, documentation accuracy, and adherence to study/protocol requirements
Genuine interest in supporting clinical research and rare disease drug development
Preferred (not required):
Prior clinical trial experience
